Fall Fashion Trends 2024

Fall clothes are the best clothes and what's trending for Fall Fashion 2024 is chunky bracelets & rings; and stacking jewelry; suede bags, classic leopard print, barn jackets with a suede brown collar, lady like tweed jackets,  white pants, trouser pants with sneakers, silk/satin maxi skirt, studded belts, mary jane shoes and cropped trench coats. It is better to be overdressed than underdressed.  The colors trending for this fall are pistachio green, burgundy (merlot and oxblood), and chocolate brown. Below is Pantone's Fashion Color Trend Report for Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 New York Fashion Week.

4 Fall Nail Polish Colors You Should Try

Now that the leaves are starting to change, I like to switch my nail polish to colors that remind me of fall: oranges, mauves, and browns. The same colors as pumpkin bread, cranberries and falling leaves.  I'm no longer wearing the glazed donut and chrome polishes that I enjoyed during the summer.

7 Best Fall Perfumes 2022

Fall has arrived and here are the best fall fragrances that are worthy of a spot on your perfume tray. This season puts you in the mood for the holidays, you grab your pumpkin chai, make apple baked goods, and light your vanilla candles. For the fall season, I like to wear scents that are warmer, spicier, cozy and sweeter (like vanilla). Fall is all about sweater weather, but not super cold. So for your fragrances you don't want something too heavy for winter but something more than your fresh clean perfume that you wear in the summertime. All these fragrances make for an autumnal aesthetic. The fall season window is so small that it makes wearing these perfumes even more special.  If you want to turn heads around, if you love smelling good and changing up your perfume for the different seasons here are some scents that conjure up the coziness of the season. None of these fragrances are new to my collection, you've seen all of them before on my blog.

Fall 2022 Fashion Trends

Here are the latest trends for fall fashion 2022 and some tips to look fresh for fall. If you update your closet with classic pieces with a modern twist, you will always look chic and effortless. I think you can build upon what you already have and love. You can take what you already wear for summer and build upon that for fall. For example, my favorite summer pants I will pair with warmer tops. I just need to add some layers and textures and darker accessories. Adding something unexpected to an outfit like mixing fabrics help to add some fall texture. If you build upon what you already have, then you don’t need to buy all new clothes, starting fresh each season. Layering your looks makes an outfit interesting and is what makes dressing for fall so much fun.

Fashion Trends to Look More Stylish This Fall

Fall is my favorite season to dress for with all of the layers and rich colors. First thing I do when we enter fall mode is to switch my closet over, then I change my perfume selections, new blog post coming up on that but I've already posted the top picks for men's fall cologne. Next I change my lip color from nudes to copper and I love wearing copper nail polish in fall! Wondering where to begin to change your wardrobe for the changing season?  I'm going to share all the fashion trends that are wearable and will make you look vibrant this season. Spoiler alert: the colors of the season are brown and green.

Fall Fashion Trends

I don't know about anyone else but I have been ready for fall! I love fall fashion! Fall is my favorite season for the colors, the cozy mood, everything is perfect! Fall is the season to feel and look elegant with luxe fabrics and jewel colors.  Fall is a little bit dressier to me, it feels more buttoned up and formal for get togethers. Fall is the time people really make a shift with their wardrobe. You get to bring out your perfect pair of boots. Fall is the perfect season for dressing as it's so fun and you can make anything work by just adding some layers and jewelry. In this post I'm going to talk about the most wearable fall trends for 2021.

Fall Outfit Ideas

Fall is officially here and I'm enjoying the crisp breezes, colorful leaves, and pumpkin flavored everything. Fall fashion is my favorite season because I like to play around with different layers and bring out all of my boots and cardigans as I have a capsule of sorts that I always wear.  Here are some staple items you'll need for your basic fall look.

5 Fall Fashion Trends

Today I'm sharing 5 Fall Fashion trends you need to add to your wardrobe. All of these are in neutral colors so they can be mixed and matched. If you're trying to create a more fashionable look this fall, make sure you get everything on this list.

Fall Palette

It's officially pumpkin patch season so I'm embracing my basic, fall obsessed vibes and checking off fall bucket list items. On Saturday I went to a pumpkin patch and had so much fun sippin' apple cider, exploring the pumpkin patch and eating apple cider donuts.  I found the cutest pumpkin in the patch that matched my sweater! Afterwards we went to a winery and did a wine tasting. I had the perfect fall day doing one of my favorite fall activities. When I got home I knew it was time to cook everything with pumpkin

Fall Bucket List

Happy 1st Day of Fall! After a hot and humid summer, then  the non-stop hurricane rain in September, I'm so glad that's over and am ready for fall. Over the weekend I started switching my closet around pulling out a donate pile, and moving the summer clothes to the back of the closet.  I know a lot of you are waiting for your first Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks! Since I'm not a coffee drinker I will be joining the pumpkin party by making some  pumpkin flavored foods. Also looking forward to my fall line of shows: Manifest, FBI, Seal Team, Will & Grace, Modern Family and new Dateline episodes.

Here's my fall bucketlist:

Red Booties for Fall

Apple Picking

Pumpkins, apple picking, sunflower fields, apple cider, winery visit, oh my!

Trader Joe's New Fall Items 2017

A new Trader Joe's opened up in my city so my mom and I went opening day to check it out. Here are some new foods that have quickly become my favorites.

5 Reasons to Be Excited For Fall

It's officially fall, I can't believe summer went by so fast! Every year I pull out my Fall Bucket List and look forward to all the fun activities this season brings!  Last year I joined a Fall Fashion Challenge which made fall a fun season to get dressed in for me! Here are my top 5 reasons when you should be excited for fall!

Bubbles & Pumpkins

Happy October! I had a fall funday spending the day with a group of amazing local bloggers hosted by Dani. We charted a bus for the 16 of us and enjoyed mimosas on it. We visited a pumpkin patch and winery. Although it was such a windy chilly day, the sky looked so beautiful. Butler's Orchard was having their annual Pumpkin Festival which had hayrides, a corn maze, giant slides, a pumpkin cannon, pony rides, face painting, apple slingshot among many other activities. For food I was so excited to see and try their apple cider donuts! Their country store sold mums, corn, gourds, apple cider, pumpkin and apple butter, local honey, pies, caramel apples,  and fresh picked apples from their orchard. I didn't get any apples because I had just gone apple picking a few weeks ago at another orchard.

Plum Fall Colors

With fall in the air, warm apple cider are heating things up, pumpkin treats are making their debut, and fashionwise I’m wearing more layers. With that change, I feel I’m supposed to ditch the light hues of summer, namely my light pink handbag. This season I’m coveting all things in a rich dark plum color. Plum is a perfect transitional shade into fall, it’s darker and moodier, and the color I painted my bedroom.  I started being a Kate Spade fan in college and still have my entire collection of handbags, can’t bring myself to throw them away. I recently learned something new (to me), that Kate Spade sold her company a few years ago to start another company under a new name. Check out the story here. If you order from Amazon, on Oct 1 they started charging tax to DC residents so I put in a big order on Friday, my last tax-free one. Here are some bags I have on my wishlist, can’t decide which one to get, what do you think? I painted my nails Zoya Haven to match.

Favorite Fall Recipes

In the last few years, I've come to appreciate Fall fo all the things the season offers. I love the changing of the leaves and seeing the pretty red leaves on the trees. I can finally enjoy the crisp air outside as this summer was just brutal. I'm going apple picking again later this month. Next month I'm visiting a new pumpkin patch. It's fun to get dressed in the Fall as I break out all my tunics, leggings, and boots along with layering with scarves and sweaters.  When it comes to food, Fall starts soup season and honeycrisp apples!

Here's a recipe for a Healthy Apple Walnut Bread that has no white flour, white sugar or oil and still tastes sweet and moist.

I will start making baked oatmeal again, particularly Apple Pie Oatmeal.

My lunch for work will start to be soup. One of my favorites is this lentil, coconut based soup with some Indian spices.

I'm already seeing but butternut squash in the stores so I plan on making some risotto with it.

Fall Capsule Wardrobe 2016

I normally love summer, but last summer has been recorded as the hottest on Earth in over 100 years. The humidity was killer this past August so I am looking forward to cooler weather. My fall fashion essentials include transitional clothing pieces, layering with cozy cardigans, wearing plaid, riding boots, corduroys, leggings and booties.
I’ve talked about my love of the stylebook app, it helps me organize my closet, figure out what I don’t wear, and helps me not do any repeats at work in a month. I pre-enter what I’m going to wear for each month so there’s no guess work in the morning or me standing in front of the full closet saying I have nothing to wear. When I buy something new, I pre-log it in for the next few months to make sure I wear it. In the past, I used to have so many clothes in my closet that still with tags on them, no more. I’m really getting my money’s worth out of my closet and starting to invest in more expensive pieces. It also makes shopping easy so when I see something new I want to buy, I can easily reference my closet while in the store to see if I already own say for example a pink shirt. It stops me from buying more clothes when I realize, I don’t have any time to wear new clothes because my clothing schedule is already full.. If you’re wondering if I ever change my mind in the morning, occasionally, if something isn’t ironed, not washed, or no longer zips. lol
A capsule wardrobe is a minimalist collection made up of versatile pieces that you love to wear. I think it really helps if you’re overwhelmed with closet chaos. I always had an overflowing closet but felt I always dressed so boring. I had a lot of clothes but few pieces I really loved to wear. With a Fall Capsule Wardrobe, there are no daily decisions on what to wear and I love everything I have to wear. You can start by going through your closet and donating clothes you no longer wear or aren’t flattering on you. Create more space for the items you love. Which reminds me of Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.  A great definition I read someone saying that, “a focus on quality pieces + an emphasis on decluttering/organization = a capsule wardrobe.” I think my wallet will be a whole lot happier sticking to this capsule. And if you need an online thrift store to get rid of your clothes, check out Tradesy.
Everyone creates their capsule wardrobe differently, some create a great capsule by combing basic items that can be layered or combined to wear together. Mine looks a little different. I made up a list of a few fashionable pieces that I’ve bought this year and last that look super chic on me and can be all worn to work which is business casual. I wear very little neutrals (white, black, gray and beige), I prefer a palette full of colors and prints. Here’s the 36 essential items I will be wearing this fall which consist of 22 work days. It includes my favorite Kendra Scott necklace in Abalone, 5 pairs of shoes, 6 pairs of pants and yes I wear white pants after labor day.
Are you on the capsule bandwagon yet?

Fall Weekend in Wine Country

It's not hard to say bye to summer when there are so many fun fall activities. Last weekend I did something quintessentially fall: I went apple picking!  Last weekend a friend and I went to a pick your own apple orchard then visited a couple wineries in VA Wine Country. In fall is when you can find a wider variety of apples available, honeycrisps being my favorite! Here's a link to my healthy apple walnut bread recipe. The orchard also had pumpkins for sale, I love the cinderella type pumpkins! The orchard's store sold pumpkin and apple butter, apple cider and a sweet apple wine. I love all the flavors of fall!

October Recap

This month I made a big effort to get outside to enjoy the fall weather, fresh air and checked off my fall bucket list.
Haunted Forest
I went to a haunted forest which was a pretty cool concept! I’ve gone to haunted houses in previous years but they always have a cheesy factor to it with the decorations and all. But an outdoors haunted experience was a really unique experience. You walk through a dark trail in the woods and there are numerous "jump scenes" along the way with frightening zombies and other ghosts, ghouls and goblins popping out. I was so scared I kept my eyes closed for it and held on to my friend's arm the whole time. I couldn’t even tell you what the clown faces looked like because after they jumped out on us, they would continue to walk steps behind us. I was screaming out to my friends "he's still with us" and my friends told me they were going to have nightmares with me saying that. lol At the very end we walked through a house in a pitch black hallway with narrowing walls. Then 3 guys came at us with chainsaws and we screamed our heads off. If we ran right to one room to avoid one another one would meet us in that direction. I have to say nothing compares in terms of the scary factor as a haunted forest!
