Fall Color Trends
Pantone published their color trend forecast based on the top ten colors on what fashion designers had in their fall collections. Typically you would expect to see fall colors like crimson reds, burnt oranges, and darker colors, but based on what was seen on fashion runways, the colors will be saturated colors like bright blue, emerald green, bright yellow, and pink. The runway had more pastel colors than expected, lots of blush and nude tones which are very flattering on my skin tone. Pastels are a little weird to have in the fall but were big on the runway. Pastels for fall/winter I'm here for it! I've always hated having to switch to navy, black, grey for a time when the days are gloom. Also seen are lots of bright saturated shades so you can elude a bright happiness after being cooped up. Don't go all darks in the fall, which is what everyone else is going. You can incorporate these colors with a bright purse or pumps to pair with your neutrals. A red bag goes great with a camel outfit or all black outfit or an all white look. I love the range of colors on trend for fall. Inject some color into your wardrobe!
Leprechaun Green
Deep rich green is one of the hottest color for this fall. I purchased a handful of pieces in this bright green as we're going to continue to see this vibrant color trending.
Root Beer Brown
Brown has a made a big comeback! When I see someone in a brown outfit I think wow they look really chic and have great style. Brown was never the focal point of my outfits before but it has a come a long way. As long as its a rich brown, it's a beautiful color all on its own. Neutral colors stand out and look elevated and elegant, browns are so classic and versatile and elevates any look. I've set a goal to wear a few brown monocromatic looks this fall. I chose to invest in some of the rich browns and stepped out of my comfort zone and bought some brown vegan leather pants and a brown satin skirt.
Purple
While not officially on the Pantone list, I have noticed that lilac is having a big moment this fall. Lilac mixes well with camel. Shades of purple would be great to do in a monochrome outfit.
Fall Fashion Trends
Things I'm excited to wear this autumn are chunky sweaters, blazers, knee high boots, fedora hats, statement belts and fashion scarves.
2021 brings lots of new styles in denim. This season we are seeing relaxed denim and straight leg jeans trending. I know skinny jeans have gone out of style since they're taking a back burner to other styles, but I'll still be wearing skinny jeans but cuffing them. I don't always follow every trend, but try to find the best version of myself.
We're seeing knits in a different way, interesting knit styles and matching sets. Lots of puffer coats seen on the runway, I would like one in gold. In college I had a long north face coat but I'm not a fan of that aesthetic.
Statement belts are in style, I love my Isabel Marant Lecce belt. Here's a cheaper alternative.
Lots of sequins shown in the latest collection on the runway. The Chanel 19 bag comes in sequin. I bought a pair of short glitter boots a few years ago and will be rocking them a bunch this season. I love the aesthetic, it's very much my vibe!
Fall Shoe Trends
Shoes on trend are the chelsea boot, slouchy boots, retro sneakers, loafers, tan shoes, knee high boots in a range of colors, crocodile boots, shiny glittery boots, and ballet flats with a closed toe. Round toe boots are out of style and look a little dated. We've moved away from them and pointy toe shoes look a little classier now. I don't think croco boots will ever go out of style so I purchased these booties and the brown ballet flats below. I purchased Veja vegan leather sneakers this summer with a gold V but I'm loving this new camel color. If you get your loafers from Zara (linked above), I recommend sizing up.
