Fall Color Palette
Brown is having a moment this year. I have shifted to loving wearing earthy neutrals. Camel and cognac are becoming a big thing this season. Brown is has come a long way and is the new black. Wearing an all brown outfit gives you look more depth and is a softer look than all black. I plan on wearing lots of monochromatic looks this season which for me is very aesthetically pleasing and looks sleek and polished. Camel pairs really well with bright red, so you wear a red sweater with camel pants and vice versa. I recommend putting away your lighter colored bags and reach for your deeper cognac colors for fall.
Pop of Color
Saturated colors for fall are tending. Typically you would see olive green popular for fall but this year it's Kelly green that is on trend. Green is one of those colors that gets overlooked but its fresh and vibrant and will uplift your spirts when it's cold outside. I'm seeing this pop of color everywhere. Green represents growth and harmony and reminds me of spring. You can pair the color green with white, black, blue (any shade), camel, light yellow, and pink. I bought a pair of trouser pants in Kelly green similar to these pants. I went through my closet and was able to make 14 outfits with them. You should never buy anything new unless you can make 3-5 outfits out of it. Here are some more Kelly green options: faux leather pants, puff sleeve sweater, V-neck tee, Culottes, Oversized Button-Up Shirt, wool sweater and a V-neck cashmere sweater.
Accessories are a great place to experiment with colors you're scared to wear. If you only want to add a small splash of color get a green purse: quilted bag or Saddle Bag. Zara has 20 Kelly green bags! Adding a colorful handbag to a neutral outfit or unmemorable one makes the outfit more interesting. Here's some outfit inspiration as I hope you will add green to your color palette.

Shoes
I'm ready to bust out all of my boots! It's so essential for fall to invest in a good pair. I've had most of my boots for years as they are so timeless and classic. Ankle boots are very versatile while taupe boots look nice with dark clothes, while nude booties will elongate your legs. I think you'll see a lot of croco (faux crocodile) boots this season. I recommend buying boots a half size larger so you can wear socks with them. Your feet swell at the end of the day so always shop for shoes that you will try on at the end of the day.
Don't underestimate the power of a great insole. NineWest has released a collection of shoes engineered with 9 game-changing innovations for next-level flexibility, cushioning, shock absorption and breathability. I bought a pair of boots from the collection and the insoles are already built in, I was so impressed! They are making their shoes even more comfortable to walk in. I noticed that all of the shoes have rubber soles which make your shoe more durable and last a long time.
I've been seeing on the streets that white sneakers are in style with the laces tucked in. It makes your shoe look more stylish and create more of a slip on sneaker look that is streamlined. I'm seeing a lot of women wear pant suits with white sneakers. Tailored wool trousers are a great alternative to jeans on the weekend as it will elevate your look. You can roll up the ends and wear it with white sneakers for a casual look.
Wedge sneakers are out. Loafers are on trend, they're functional flats that are comfortable, effortless, and easy to wear. It's really great shoe to have in your closet and versatile for different outfits.
The round toe shoe is out. It shortens the legs and doesn't look as stylish. A pointy toe shoe is fresh and modern. I've always felt this way about my round toe flats but couldn't quite put my finger on what made them boring. Anyway, I replaced those shoes with pointy flats. I posted links to shoes in this post.
Other Key Pieces
Break out your long cardigans which are great for drawing the eye down the body giving you a lengthening affect; it's a nice finishing piece to any outfit. I recommend tucking in your sweater on one side, as it creates a nice shape. Cowl neck sweaters are a great looser alternative to the turtleneck. Puff sleeve shirts and sweaters are on trend and look so stylish! They make your waist look smaller. Sweater vests are trending although I think I will set this one out, you don't have to follow every trend.
