12 Luxury Makeup Products That Are Worth The Hype

A good time to purchase luxury makeup is from the Sephora sale because brands like Dior never have sales. Luxury is not just a price point, it's an experience that comes at a high price point. That experience is a major factor in making it luxury.  I feel these products are truly worth the money and the products I’m most excited about. Here are my absolute favorites by brand. Take advantage of getting discounts on luxury products now at the Sephora sale. Also check out my favorite concealers and best face masks posts.

I also wanted to mention I’ve noticed a trend in make up lately and that is that intricate eyeshadow looks are out and no longer the main part of makeup. Tiktok has lots of videos on heavy vs light makeup and what suits you better. What’s on trend now is all about giving a nice complexion. I think it started with the clean skin aesthetic during the pandemic and now everyone just wants glowy skin, chic effortless one and done looks.

Some people say bougie products aren’t for the rich, it's for the poor who want to pretend they're rich. I can see that since the truly rich are wearing quiet luxury brands. But the rest of us get some enjoyment out of having a luxury product.  Here’s a tip, if you buy an expensive skincare product and don’t want to spend the money to buy it again, keep the container but refill it with a cheaper product. I do that when I buy a boogie hand soap in a fancy container. Your La Mer eye cream jar can be repurposed and you will still feel like you’re using a luxury product. I repurpose all my Voluspa candle jars as storage containers (pens, makeup, perfume samples) and my luxury candle jars are used for succulents.

Armani

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation shade 7

This is one of the best foundations on the market! For the last 12 years I have heard makeup artists all say this is a staple in their kit because it’s so universally loved. It's an oil-free liquid foundation that delivers buildable medium coverage with a magical luminous, glowy-skin finish. It melts into your skin like butter and gives a show-stopping second skin like finish. It lasts all day and still looks good by the end of the day. I took a picture of me wearing it indoors and outside so you could see the healthy luminous glow on my skin as it’s a gorgeous foundation! My skin type is normal for reference. I bought the mini size because I'm never going to finish a bottle of foundation. This foundation is so good because it makes your skin look like your skin but better, a flawless glowy version, just look at this:

Chantecaille

I wanted a one and done eyeshadow in the perfect shade of taupey plum. The formula is a cream powder hybrid with a beautiful sheen that gives your eyes a bit of glossiness. There's nothing quite like it on the market. This is so beautiful and unique. It's soft and not too sparkly and creates an effortless look. I apply it with my fingers and smoke out the edges with a brush. It looks like I've done so much more to my eyes than putting one color on. You don't need a primer with this. If you don't like wearing eyeshadow, this is super quick and easy to apply.

Chanel

Chanel Bronzing Cream in shade 392

This bronzer warms up the skin and mimics the sun.  It gives a beautiful finish and worth the splurge! I use a brush to apply it, it goes on so easy and the color payoff is gorgeous. I love the formula! This comes in 3 colors and travel size.

Dior

A liquid illuminator that enhances the complexion and smooths the skin. It’s great for a glowy primer under foundation or buy itself as a skin tint. It makes your skin look so radiant!

Givenchy

Givenchy Prisme Libre Concealer in shade C305

A very hydrating, luminous, creamy formula. Ingredients include glycerin, Capucine Extract, and Cornflower Complex. Comes in 24 shades with a medium coverage and a radiant finish.

Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Setting and Finishing Powder in 3 Voile Rosé

Its my favorite to set my eyes and blends in like butter. Because of the pink undertone, it also brightens the undereye.  You can buy the mini size to save money, but if you do the math per ounce, you are actually spending a lot more. I didn't buy this for the longest time because of the price, but this powder outperforms all my other powders, it really is incredible! You get that perfect instagram filtered look blurring out all your pores!

Gucci

Gucci Concealer shade 33C

I don’t like the floral packaging but it is a hydrating luminous finish that is simply flawless. It has a thin consistency and  wears for a long time. Ingredients include Black Rose Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Camella Flower, and Film Formers. It comes in my perfect shade (pink beige) and has 40 shades! More shades than most other concealers and tons of deep shades. It is full coverage with a natural finish. My shade is  light beige shade with cool pink undertones which is such a hard shade to find so it's a perfect match!

Gucci Illuminateur Highlighter

This is not sold at Sephora so I had to buy directly from the Gucci website and it comes in a Gucci box and you get a whole luxury unboxing experience! The color is perfect on me, not light champagne gold, it's a warm gold, almost rose gold and slightly copper.

It is a liquid highlighter that creates a radiant glow on the skin. With multi-use formula that can be worn on bare skin, or mixed it into foundation and primer, the golden drops create a healthy-looking finish designed. The formula has ultra-thin pearls and pearlescent pigments that illuminate skin by reflecting light in multiple directions.  Skin looks plumped, feels refreshed and hydrated.

Tom Ford

I always wanted the Clé de Peau Concealer but couldn't decide on what color to order online so when Tom Ford came out with a similar product that I could try on in person at Sephora I went with the Tom Ford instead. Tom Ford is also sold at Nordstrom but TF may be fading the product away because Nordstrom has it hidden in a drawer and Sephora removed it from the shelves but still sells it online.

Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Concealer

Concealer in a solid stick form that is really creaseless under the eyes and looks natural. I prefer this over my liquid concealers and it truly does look natural and I get zero creasing!  The skincare-infused stick formula is designed to hydrate skin while also providing buildable coverage with Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid. It has a natural finish instead of radiant. Comes in 20 shades and I have two shades. It has medium coverage and natural finish.

Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil

This lightweight body oil that combines the Tom Ford perfume Soleil Blanc with shimmery gold flecks in oil. It captures the sultry effect of sunkissed summer skin with a fragrance. I also own the perfume Soleil Blanc which has notes of  Pistachio, Bergamot, Cardamom and Pink Pepper, Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine, Coconut, Amber, Tonka Bean and Benzoin. Imagine being on a beach in Europe with salty skin smelling your sunscreen, that is what is captured here but more upscale and refined than Hawaiian Tropic. It smells like a luxe vacation in St. Barts.

Westman-Atelier

Westman-Atelier Baby Cheeks - shade Mimi which is a Tawny Beige
This color is only available on her website and never goes on sale. She sells mini versions of her other blushes at Sephora so that's a cheaper way to try them. This creates for dewy wet looking skin, and is so easy to apply and glides on really well. It lasts longer than my other cream blush. I love a sad beige blush color as I don't want too much bright pink on my cheeks.

YSL Beauty

YSL Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick in shade 15

The shine of a gloss with nourishment of a balm. A luxurious lip gloss stick with vitamin E and hyaluronic acid for medium coverage and lasting shine. This is the perfect nude shade for me.

Wishlist

I've been wanting the Chanel Water Fresh Tint for a long time now as it's infused with ultra-concentrated micro-droplet pigments. I went to Nordstrom and got color matched, but then brought it home and lost my sample. I don't know which product I sampled as two have a similar name and I don't know the difference between the two so I have to go test them all over again. lol

Chanel Water-Fresh Complexion Touch

This costs more because you have to buy it with the brush.

Chanel Water-Fresh Tint

This also comes with the brush in a set and then costs the same as the first one.

Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter  in nude

I almost bought but then remembered I already have a liquid highlighter in the perfect shade.

Gucci bronzer

I almost bought because the packaging is so pretty, but ultimately decided I have enough bronzers at home.

Gucci Brume de Beauté Beauty Mist

A glowy, hydrating beauty mist to prep, set, or refresh the skin, formulated with soothing, protective, and setting ingredients.  I seem to collect setting mists and facial sprays that I can't finish so I really shouldn't buy another.

Gucci Rouge de Beauté Brillant Glow & Care Lipstick in Linnet Stone

Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Primer

A primer that creates a protective barrier between skin and makeup for a soft matte finish. I have sampled this and enjoyed it but don't know if I really need a primer.

YSL Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara

I want to try this in electric blue. I love wearing blue mascara on no makeup days, I get so many compliments on it. It just really makes my brown eyes pop.

Dior Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple Volume Plumping Lash Primer

A lash primer to help make lashes look fuller.

Armani Beauty Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer Highlighter in shade 10 bronze

A complexion enhancer for a dewy glow—use as a highlighter or mix with skincare or foundation for a radiant boost. Do I need another highlighter?

Armani Shadow Tint

A shimmery liquid eyeshadow but I can't decide what shade to get.

Armani Bronzing Powder shade 100

An ultra-creamy bronzing powder infused with caring oils for smooth, even application and a luminous, sunkissed finish.
