Fall Fashion Trends 2024

Fall clothes are the best clothes and what's trending for Fall Fashion 2024 is chunky bracelets & rings; and stacking jewelry; suede bags, classic leopard print, barn jackets with a suede brown collar, lady like tweed jackets,  white pants, trouser pants with sneakers, silk/satin maxi skirt, studded belts, mary jane shoes and cropped trench coats. It is better to be overdressed than underdressed.  The colors trending for this fall are pistachio green, burgundy (merlot and oxblood), and chocolate brown. Below is Pantone's Fashion Color Trend Report for Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 New York Fashion Week.

The denim trends for fall 2024: Cuffed Jeans, Wide Leg Jeans, Patch Pocket Jeans and Cropped Jeans. If you want to update your denim wardrobe for the fall pick one of those silhouettes and invest in a pair of dark indigo denim. It's my favorite because it's very flattering because its darker. And lends itself to being dressed up and nicer outfits.

Clothes in stores are made for a rectangle body shape which is the same body shape that supermodels have. I talked about body shape in this post.  When I discovered I had a rectangle body shape I had an ah ha moment because no matter what size I am, everything always fits me in my size right off the rack. The average American woman is a triangle so if that is your body shape, you should buy jeans one size bigger and take it to a tailor to make the waist smaller. Some stores sell a "curvy" version of their jeans for triangle shapes. Buying jeans is hard, I placed an order from 4 stores until I found the perfect fit for me. On Black Friday I'm going to check out a  pricier brand: Citizens of Humanity.

Cuffed jeans

I thought that this could be the trend I embrace. I absolutely hate cuffed work trousers so I wasn't sure how I would feel about these. Will rain fall into the cuff? lol These cuffs are sewn into the pants, otherwise they wouldn't stay up folded. I ordered the first two pants and found the Madewell "super wide leg" to be too wide for me. lol

Stratus pant in textured satin I bought these pants in grey but the burgundy is pretty too!

faux leather mini skirt - This skirt was in the store window and on a mannequin inside the store. When I couldn't find it anywhere in the store I asked an employee where they were and she told me they were sold out. Well why are you advertising it? I'm so bummed because  I bought this shirt online in early September and I just didn't look around for the skirt as it had to be in stock then. It randomly was available a couple days ago in only my size so I bought quickly and to my surprise it shipped!
Stitch Turtleneck Sweater - This got a negative review for the neckline but I had no problem with the neckline. But I want to quote the review because it actually describes the sweater perfectly: "The design is modern and unique, the sleeves are gorgeous, and the color is beautiful. This is one of the most interesting and elegant designs I've seen on AT. It would likely be amazing in a higher-quality fabric with less elasticity."

Leopard Print

I've seen quite a few people wear leopard pants, it's not for me, but here are some options for you:
Satin Pants - I might wear these once they go on sale

Velvet Blazers

My How To Style a Velvet Blazer post is one of my top viewed posts and has lots of beautiful pictures. So I wanted to share some new velvet blazers to get this season. You want a stiff blazer, the ones that look cheap, the fabric is so crinkly it doesn't give you a crisp blazer.

Chocolate

This has been my inspo as I'm trying to recreate this outfit, she's wearing designer head to toe. Sheer tights is also on trend. Target sells them in beautiful shades of burgundy, brown and moss green. Crossbody bags are out, everyone is only wearing their bags on their shoulder or in their hands. Kitten heels are so in right now! They are so easy to wear and walk around in. Turtlenecks were all over the runways this season hence they are trending this season.

This Toteme Scarf coat for $1130 is the "it" piece this season. H & M has duped it.

It’s fun to try out new styles but don’t spend too much money on trendy clothing. The wisest investments are bags, shoes, coats, and jewelry.
