Summer Bucketlist 2026

Summer always passes in the blink of an eye; August rolls around and you're left wondering where the time went. so I've been thinking about what to look forward to between now and the end of the season. There is a ton of research that says that if you have something in the future that you're looking forward to, you can borrow the anticipation of that thing to make you feel better now.

But after a spring that was an absolute whirlwind of travel from Savannah, and Disney World, to an unforgettable trip through Istanbul and Uzbekistan I’m ready to slow down and stay local. I love the simple freedom of this season, with its longer days and warmer nights. Life is better without a cardigan ruining my outfit.  After so much time spent packing suitcases and sitting on airplanes, my goal for the next few months is to play tourist in my own backyard and fully embrace everything my city has to offer.

I even took Friday off to guarantee a extra-long Memorial Day weekend to kick things off. Thursday I went to Zumba class, Friday caught the 10am Star Wars showing, then went to the Great Gatsby musical in the evening, Saturday morning I had yoga class, then later went to Orchestra Noir, Sunday I had Zumba class then hung out with my mom, Monday was my rest day to read and declutter.

In the past, creating a good old-fashioned summer bucket list was the perfect excuse to get out, discover new events, and intentionally enjoy the season. This year, I want to do it again. It’s all about finding small, simple ways to maximize the good stuff, create sweet memories, and ensure that when September hits, I actually have a great answer to, "So, what’d you do this summer?" Without a little intention, it’s far too easy to fall into the usual seasonal trap: July pressure, August panic, September regret. If you’re looking to build your own, here is exactly what is on my list this year. But I have a feeling the moments that will actually stick might not even be on the list. They’re the random Friday nights.

My Travel Bucketlist 2023

I’ve been to 81 countries and I’m happiest when I’m heading out on an adventure into the unknown. I think you should search relentlessly until you find what lights you up inside, what makes you smile your most genuine and happy smile and then never, ever let it go. For me, that’s travel and I’ve always prioritized it in my budget. My last couple international trips have been solo trips and I truly believe that cool energy brings cool people into your life. When you're fearless and open to anything it attracts the best things possible. When you get outside of your bubble and travel alone magical things start to happen because there's nothing to interrupt the flow, thus you bump into people more easily. As a solo traveler you're able to follow intuition about what to do and where to go next. I try to see all situations in a positive light rather than in a negative way. Good energy attracts good energy!

Writing down my travel bucketlist is a reminder of everywhere I want to go but the only problem is that this travel bucketlist grows faster than I can tick off the destinations. While I have been to many places there are so many places left to travel. At the bottom of this post I’ve linked my previous travel bucketlists so it’s fun to see what I have accomplished and what is still on the list. You can use the Travel drop down menu at the top of my blog to see all of my travel posts. I continue to play the points game with travel credit cards so I can spend less while I travel more. Here's my top 10 list!

2022 Summer Bucket List

I'm excited that summer is finally here! To start this new season I created a list of fun things I want to do in the next 3 months.

7 Travel Resolutions for 2020

Every year I make the usual resolution about losing weight that never happens so instead this year  I made a fun list of travel goals that I have for myself. I feel that writing them down makes a big difference because it makes it more concrete and it's something I can look to hold myself accountable to make sure I achieve this list.  I want to consume less and instead focus on spending money on experiences and travel, not things/clothes. I’ve been fortunate to have traveled to some really amazing places already  (and never cared about a passport stamp or will add the number to my IG bio as some badge of honor) so my goal is to continue that journey of quality travel experiences.

Fall Bucket List

Happy 1st Day of Fall! After a hot and humid summer, then  the non-stop hurricane rain in September, I'm so glad that's over and am ready for fall. Over the weekend I started switching my closet around pulling out a donate pile, and moving the summer clothes to the back of the closet.  I know a lot of you are waiting for your first Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks! Since I'm not a coffee drinker I will be joining the pumpkin party by making some  pumpkin flavored foods. Also looking forward to my fall line of shows: Manifest, FBI, Seal Team, Will & Grace, Modern Family and new Dateline episodes.

Here's my fall bucketlist:

Fit Summer Bucket List

I love making lists from to-do lists, seasonal bucket lists, vacation bucket lists, blogging goals, style goals and grocery lists.  You can see my previous summer bucket lists here and here. At the beginning of the year, I posted my list of goals which included some fitness goals. This summer I decided to do something a bit different and create a fitness bucket list to help keep me motivated and to create a sense of accomplishment when I’ve achieved them. I’ve set up a few new challenges this season to mix things up for my body. The first half of this year I pretty much had the same routine rotating between Orangetheory with at-home fitness dvds, but at least no two classes at Orangetheory are the same.

This summer I signed up for Dancetrance 3x a week which is so much fun! See I used to do Zumba, but didn’t always like or know many of the songs. Dancetrance is a cardio dance class set to popular pop and rap songs. As an avid Dancing with the Stars watcher, I think it’s fun to learn all these dance moves and feel like a backup dancer in a Beyonce video!  I’m adding some barre classes to the mix as well. My company offers on-site yoga classes so I'm doing that once a week as well. On the weekends, I have some hikes and bike rides planned. I bought an exercise ball and have set a goal to do crunches on it daily.  Just getting it out the box and pumping it full of air was the hardest part. lol

I also want to exercise my feet since I’m always having off and on foot pain. I heard that just walking barefoot on the beach is one of the best exercises you can do for your feet to strengthen them. I also made an appointment for a foot massage/reflexology and acupressure. I've been getting facials every other month but neglecting my feet.

Since I know weight loss is 80% diet I’ve made a commitment to drinking the Glowing Green Smoothie every day this summer as a snack. I’ve got a few recipe variations so it won’t always be the same. I really like the GGS because I make it in batches of 3 and it stays fresh in my fridge over those days. I’m making an effort to eat salad for dinner and this week I’m doing one of my favorite arugula salad recipes. I plan on making my own salad dressing soon using this Cilantro Lime Dressing. I bought a water infusion bottle and have started brewing fruit infused water. I started making popsicles again, here's a list of my favorite recipes. This week I'm eating my Chunky Monkey Overnight Oats.

I’m also exercising my brain as I signed up for Toastmasters.  It's an organization that has been around 90 years and in 135 countries around the world that helps you develop public speaking and leadership skills through bi-weekly practice at their meetings.  I thought it would be a great way to boost my communication skills, meet new people and gain more confidence.

Do you have a fitness bucket list? Have you done Toastmasters?

Season of Joy!

Winter Wonderland by Jewel on Grooveshark
I wanted to share some of my Favorite Christmas things like my famed sugar cookies:
My pink gingerbread house:

Every year I buy an amaryllis plant that blooms at Christmas. It comes just a bulb planted in dirt and in the span of one month grows tall then blooms multiple gorgeous red flowers. Here it is with my chocolate advent calendar, you're never too old for one! lol

This is the best time of year to start with a new attitude. This is the season of joy, the time to express gratitude. - Joel Osteen

I'll be working on checking off my winter bucket list this month. Never heard of Nurnberger Gluhwein,
check out this post. You can check out my favorite Christmas songs here.

My Summer Adventure book!

I just had the most awesome Memorial Day weekend! I went to a reggae wine festival, a yoga workshop to improve my chaturanga, spent some time by my pool and went on a 800 calorie run that led me through the Memorial Day parade. I've been drinking my favorite iced tea.

Last year I created a summer bucketlist so I decided to do the same for this summer. Here's all the adventures I want to get into this summer! So far already had my first bike ride of the season. I'm counting down to California!

Winter Bucket List

Joy to the World by Mariah Carey on Grooveshark I spent last week in San Francisco expecting to escape the cold here but to no avail, it was a chilly 50 degrees there! Now that I'm back home I feel I can finally get ready for Christmas! With that comes my winter bucket list! I grew up always having an artificial Christmas tree because it's environmentally friendly plus inexpensive, you use the same tree every year. Now a days artificial trees look almost real and come with the lights already on them to simplify your decorating. To get the Christmas tree scent I use Yankee Candle wall plugs in and this reed diffuser which has the "fresh forest scent of balsam, aromatic cedar wood and juniper".

Tis the Season to Look Hot
For the past three years I've participated in Santarchy. It's a free event that takes place in major cities all over the world involving 100s of people dressed up as Santa running around town as a group amusing passersby. lol  We sing carols and people bring cookies to share. Then end the day bar-hopping or we go to the zoo to see the lights at night. Everyone's super friendly and it's just a jolly old time! This year I dressed up as an elf again

When I was a child I used to take ballet lessons that's why I enjoy seeing the Nutcracker ballet. If you live in San Diego I hope you were lucky enough to see the Men's Chorus version of it. lol I talked about my favorite German Christmas wine Nurnberger Gluhwein here. The next two days I'll talk about healthy eggnog and peppermint hot chocolate.

Farewell Summer, Hello Fall Bucketlist

This summer I created my own bucket list for which I achieved all but two items. I wanted to share an awesome Fall Bucketlist I found that someone else made - link. I plan on printing it and framing it at my desk to remind me of all the fun things to do this fall!

One of my goals that's not on the list is to make sure I get at least 8 hours of sleep every night so I've made sleep my #1 priority. I feel more energized to get things done when I’m awake if I've slept well the night before.
Those who don't get enough sleep at night are also going to be at risk of suffering from a slow metabolism. In addition to that, getting enough sleep will also increase your glucose tolerance, so you'll be able to handle any carbohydrates you consume that much better. This means you’ll have a lower chance of suffering from an increase in body fat.
Another important goal is to make something pumpkin! I know a lot of you are waiting for your first Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks! Since I'm not a coffee drinker I will be joining the pumpkin party by making some sugar free pumpkin bread.
