Travel

Last year I wrote:

For 2025 I'm trying to decide between visiting Finland again but this time for the ultimate winter wonderland above the arctic circle seeing the northern lights and sleeping in an Ice Hotel. Or either Uzbekistan/ Banff Canada/ Puglia in the summer. I never really know until I book the trip a few months beforehand but I will be checking something off from my Travel Bucketlist. Maybe a spring weekend in Miami.  I got my Polish birth certificate reissued so next step is going to the embassy to get a passport so I won't have to pay for visas when I visit Europe! Starting in 2025, Americans have to purchase a visa to visit Europe. Here are all of my travel posts for the year:

As it turned out in 2025 I visited Miami and Banff Canada and have booked Uzbekistan and Istanbul for next year! I'm slowing making my way through my Travel Bucketlist. By the way a great gift idea for a world traveler is a one-time lounge pass as they might not splurge on this for themselves. Condé Nast’s Gold List just dropped, and here are the world’s best hotels and resorts for 2026.

Music

According to spotify my most played artist of the year is Chris Brown; my two most played songs of his are: Residuals and Angel Numbers / Ten Toes.

The songs I have on repeat mode right now are: Push 2 Start - Tyla, Sensational x Tempted to Touch - AngelRock, DJ Frizzie, Nights like This - Kehlani, Little Things - Ella Mai.

Youtube

Youtube does an end of year wrapped that describes you based on what you watched over the year and below is what it said for me. Eleven years ago I started watching makeup tutorials on youtube, then five years ago I felt beauty influences switched to doing eyeshadow palette reviews, then two years ago influencers were only doing beauty product new release videos. By the end of this year I finally tapered off as I have enough makeup.

What I watch now are videos on decluttering, cleaning, fashion trends, and travel.  A travel creator brings you along as they wander through a city, try local food, meet people and share the little details that make a place feel real. Some videos focus on sightseeing, others lean into culture or personal experiences. Most mix wide shots of scenery with close moments that feel like you’re tagging along with a friend. They’re part guide, part diary, and part inspiration for your next trip. It's such a great tool in planning my trips. Then I also watch videos on money, media, and intentional living that mix practical financial advice with ideas about minimalism, sustainability, and mindful consumption. I've also started playing podcasts in the background when I'm home.

As a true crime junkie I did watch some one off mysteries on Netflix. My favorites this year were Amy Bradley is MissingA Deadly American Marriage, Missing You, The Woman in Cabin 10, The Beast in Me starring Claire Danes and Brittany Snow. Also Death in Apt 603 on Hulu. Netflix has a list of the 11 Harlan Coben Shows to Stream Right Now. He's one of the best mystery authors and they keep making his books into mini series so I'm working my way through the list.

Viral Trend

My favorite viral trend this year was the AI Barbie box. You had to transform a photo of yourself  into a stylized doll/avatar. Then you wrap that avatar in a digital “toy box” complete with packaging design, name label, accessories. I couldn't quite get my face accurate.

What I'm most grateful for this year? Being intentional about prioritizing time with my family and friends. Gratitude does not erase the hard things. It simply widens the lens.
