My Fall Must Haves from the Sephora Sale

I'm in full fall mode over here after decorating my home with fall decor and now pulling out my favorite fall makeup. Fall is so pretty with the colorful leaves, pumpkins and caramel apple cider; and those colors also inspire my makeup. For lipstick I love going for rusty reds before transitioning into the bright reds for winter. In the fall and winter I get excited about makeup as I get to wear it a little bit more. Sweater weather leads to more intense makeup and my makeup looks better since I'm not sweating it off. This list is what I will be wearing the most this season so I hope you enjoy this edit. All of these faves will create a sultry look for you! The Sephora Savings Event is my Superbowl! My cart has been ready for a month!

Lipsticks

Nars Audacious Lipstick in Mona

A warm-toned, medium-dark burgundy with a satin gloss finish. I have repurchased this lipstick and love the formula! It's a beautiful dark red on me with some brown tones to it. The color is very pigmented and the formula is creamy and hydrating. I also own Olivia and Barbara from Nars' Audacious line. I'll be wearing Mona all fall!

HUDA Power Bullet Cream Glow Hydrating Lipstick in Boss Chick

This is a rich red brown and it goes nice with my rustic brown coat. I think this color would look really good on someone with dark hair. The swatch color on Sephora's website makes it look much darker than it really is.

NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Slow Ride

Described as a soft brown pink, but I would call the shade burnt orange. A liquid lipstick with matte long lasting color. The color is softy diffused and the formula is not drying for a matte. I also have this formula in the color Starwoman which is my favorite bright red.

Armani Beauty Lip Maestro Liquid Matte Lipstick in Palazzo.

A warm brown red, chestnut. Delicious color and a velvet finish.

Eyeshadow

Did you know there's an expiration date on your cosmetics? It's on the box it comes in. Your old eyeshadow could have microorganisms on them such as bacteria, fungus and parasites. Eyeshadow should be tossed after 12 months. So if you still have your old Naked palettes from 10 years ago, time to toss them! Mascara is supposed to be thrown out after 3 months because afterwards contamination increased after that. I like to use eyeshadow as an eyeliner with a brush, so I want to be double sure that it's safe to use.

Natasha Denona Retro Eyeshadow Palette or it's dupe is a palette with a beautiful color story of taupe and burgundy high impact shades. You can create so many beautiful looks from this! It has 15 romantic shades of burgundy, mauve, and taupe, dusty rose and vintage pink. She arranges the color so that each column or row is a look. However you can take out the shadows and rearrange them if you want. It's made in Italy and she also makes mini palettes. This has sold out and has gotten a ton of hype!

Natasha Denona My Dream Eyeshadow Palette is also nice.
If you want cool toned colors, this palette of matte, metallic and sparkly, golden taupe, and neutral shades will be perfect for you. Mini Glam and dupe Fall vixen vibes here we come!

Eyeliner

Natasha Denona Macro Tech Eyeliner Crayon in Burgundy

Described as a creamy eyeliner in a crayon that offers immediate, full payoff in one stroke, even when layered on top of the most pigmented eyeshadows.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner in Olive

MILK MAKEUP Hydro Grip Eyeshadow and Concealer Primer

Made with Blue Agave Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Hemp-Derived Cannabis Seed Extract, Niacinamide  and Aloe Water that will hydrate your skin. This is great to put on your under eye to prevent creasing from concealer.

Blush

Blush is my favorite step when it comes to my makeup. I think it just adds so much color to your face and is such an important step to your makeup. It can make you look like you were just on vacation with that sun-kissed natural flush.  Blush add so much impact and make your cheeks look so luminous, glossy and healthy. I think lashes and blush take your makeup to the next level!

If you’re intimidated by blush, stick to neutral colors and a matte formula; that way you can do a bold lip or bold eye and not worry about your blush clashing with the rest of your makeup. Thus, a neutral blush will give you more freedom when it comes to wearing that bold red lipstick. If you wear foundation, you are cancelling out all your natural pigmentation and you end up looking very flat; that’s why we bring in blush and bronzer to bring in that warmth and color.

Placement of blush is critical and can make or break your look. Makeup application goes in trends and waves and right now the most flattering placement is to wear your blush higher. Put it on higher up than you would think to wear it, up where your highlighter used to be, high on your cheekbones.  This will give you a lifted and sculpted look. I love the look of a high swooped up blush!  When you apply blush, you should pat it on with a brush, then blend it out really well with a brush so you have control of its application, and so that it blends in seamlessly with your makeup. If it hurts to press in your brush to your skin, you need a new brush. It shouldn't hurt, invest in good tools.  You shouldn’t have two pats of blush on the apples of your cheeks like a clown.

I'm not one to wear pink on my cheeks, I love a natural bronze color. I’m also open to different blush formulas from powder to cream, although a bit intimidated by the liquid formula. Professional makeup artists all put cream formulas on the back of their hand first to warm up the formula. I have this brush because I like vegan bristles, having a brush made out of squirrel hairs completely grosses me out. Here are my favorite blushes.

PAT McGRATH LABS Divine Powder Blush in Desert Orchid

Described as a petal-soft powder blush with blendable color and a unique featherlight, silk-velvet finish. She also makes an interesting formula that has two blushes on one compact: Divine Blush Duo.

PATRICK TA Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush in She's So LA

A compact with two complementary blush formulas, one powder and one cream. You're supposed to apply the powder first with a brush then layer the cream onto the apples of your cheeks with your fingers for a dewy, life-like glow. The color is a rosy brown.

Tower 28 Beauty BeachPlease Lip + Cheek Cream Blush

I have this in Magic Hour but I think the Power Hour would be perfect for fall on different skin tones. Power Hour is a terracotta and rosy color. The formula is very pigmented and emollient and blends into the skin very nicely.

HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Bio-Radiant Gel-Powder Highlighter  in Fire Opal

An innovative, clean highlighting powder that you can put anywhere on the face or body. It comes in 10 shades and I really like the Fire Opal color even though I never wear orange blush. Fire Opal is a gorgeous apricot color with tons of micro glitter sparkles but the other shades have a satin sheen. This talc free formula is made with Arnica and melts into your skin so beautifully. I use it as a blush topper on the apples of my cheeks and it gives an amazing glow. The formula doesn't add any texture to your skin.

Laura Mercier Blush Color Infusion in Ginger and Fresco

These two colors have been my go-to blush colors, they are a very natural nude color, one with shimmer and one matte.  For the fall I'm going with a little more color on my cheeks.

Skincare

Described as a  potent 20% acid night serum that smoothes skin texture, firms, improves elasticity and targets the look of dark spots, pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Ingredients include 10% AHAs and 10% PHAs, Aloe Juice and Licorice Extract.

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Vitamin C Lactic Firm & Bright Eye Treatment

A new innovative formula with a blend of three forms of Vitamin C, Lactic Acid, and Tranexamic Acid.

Haircare

Described as a silicone-free oil blend for every day, multi-way use that’s delicately silky, and enriched with kakadu plum for curls that feel soft, smooth, and glossy. It's a mixture of  Safflower Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Castor Oil, and Argan Oil.

Perfume

A unisex leather inspired perfume that comes in two versions with notes of cardamom, leather, jasmine, amber, moss and patchouli. It's sexy and complex but a dark mature scent. I never thought I would like a perfume that had a leather dominant scent but this is absolute cozy warm darkness. It's sexy, powerful and bold and you will smell like no one else in the room. I've gotten lots of compliments when I wear this.

There was so much hype when this was released earlier this year that it sold out, everyone on tiktok was talking about it. This is a clean perfume so it doesn't last as long. The scent is of a skin musk, sheer jasmine, bergamot, orange flower, sandalwood, blonde wood and white musk.
