I was looking for a wallet friendly formula for my mom whose lipstick always disappears as soon after she puts it on. If you’re looking for a budge proof lipstick that will actually stay on your lips, I’ve put together a list of 3 lipsticks that will stay on all day. I bought these at Ulta but you should also be able to find them at CVS. All three of these set within minutes so they won’t rub off, then they fade slowly over time. I tested these lipsticks by wearing them all day on my lips even though I looked funny working from home on zoom with lipstick on. I ate, drank and exercised as usual during the day. To remove them at the end of the day I used a sugar based lip scrub then conditioned my lips with a balm as they are a little difficult to get off. Revlon ColorStay Matte Lite Crayon Clear the Air (burnt orange) $12.39
A crayon that provides a saturated matte lip color. Its matte formula is infused with antioxidant-rich Mango Seed Oil that replenishes and feels comfortable without drying out the lips. It has an ultra-precise tip with built-in sharpener at the bottom of the pencil. The crayon was released a little over a year ago and comes in 12 shades including some pretty plum shades. I was surprised by how comfortable the formula is to apply and when wearing it has a tacky feel. But I would say it’s comfortable to wear although it has a slight dry feeling. You can use Vaseline or Aquaphor ointment to remove it.
Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Nudes Liquid Lipcolor Punchy (medium teddy brown) and Fearless (deep chocolate brown) $13
A highly pigmented, shiny vinyl color that lasts up to 16 hours. It was released about 6 months ago and comes in sleek packaging that you don’t expect from the drugstore. To apply you need to shake it for 5 seconds then apply to lips and let them fully dry. It comes in 20 colors, there's a separate link for the vivid reds. I purchased in two colors and the darker color needed a couple coats to build up the color to a full opacity. These lipsticks are beautiful and the colors are pigmented and glossy. They're very comfortable and not drying. I may prefer these over the matte ones. My lips do feel slightly tacky but I don't mind. I was most impressed with this lipstick as I wore it all day through lunch and dinner and it didn't budge and looked good to the end! The punchy color was so pretty on me. Highly recommend!

Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick Globetrotter (rusty orange brown) $11
This is a high-pigment matte finish lipstick with up to 16 hours of wear. It has a unique arrow shaped tip that provides a precise application and is available in 30 rich, saturated shades. The product was released a little over a year ago. I got the color globetrotter which is the perfect burnt orange for me with amazing color payout and intense pigmentation. The finish is a satin sheen, not a flat matte. I put this on after breakfast and it had massive stay power and did not need to be reapplied as it didn’t budge. It was however a bit tacky when I pressed my lips together and when I smiled you could see the color had cracked a little on my bottom lip after some hours. The key to application is you have to let it sit for a few minutes before eating/drinking for it to really be budge proof. I removed it with coconut oil at the end of the day and it took many swipes of coconut oil to get it off. I didn't have to scrub hard, but it just took many attempts to remove.
