Pantone Rose Quartz

Pantone's color of the year is Serenity (light blue) and Rose Quartz. I absolutely love this soft pastel shade of pink because it's such a feminine pink and one of my favorites. I'm sure it will appear more in spring/summer collections, but here are some ways to incorporate them in winter. I'm a big statement necklace gal and let me tell you that they are a great way to add a hint of color to your outfits if you tend to wear neutrals. Here are some of my recent purchases that I'm excited to rock.

Zoya had a sale last month where four bottles of nail polish were only $15 with free shipping! I picked up Kennedy which is described as "a full coverage, pale, french beige cream". If you look at the bottle the color doesn't look very impressive, but it's the perfect shade of pale pink on my skin tone. This is the shade I wore for Valentine's Day. It's a lighter shade of my other favorite pink Amanda.

I've been in the market for a new handbag for awhile but I'm not the type of person who collects them. I buy one every year or so and sport it daily until it wears out.  But I was watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills where the ladies were making fun of Eileen's bag. See Eileen, like me, pays little attention to her bag and sports old bags. Kathryn said she always looks at a woman's shoes then the handbag which polishes the outfit. I think that's true because whenever I look at fashion bloggers, the finishing piece to their outfit is their handbag. Michael Kors was having a sale and I got this pink Selma bag for 50%.

Kendra Scott is my favorite jewelry line and for your birthday, you get 50% off one item. So I visited the store and tried on just about everything having a hard time trying to pick out just what I want. I ended up with the Andy bracelet in rose quartz. It's such a beautiful jewel tone color I think I need the necklace and earrings too!

How many bracelets does it take to make your wrists happy?
Last year's color was Marsala which I didn't really wear or see much of in stores.
What do you think of the color Rose Quartz? Will incorporate it into your wardrobe this year?

Kendra Scott jewelry

I've been a Kendra Scott fan for a year now and was so excited to learn they were opening a store in my area! At their opening the first 50 customers received a free pair of Danielle Earrings in mint with a purchase! There was also a mimosa bar, lemonade and Georgetown cupcakes.

Blogger's Scene Summer Cocktail Party

This was my fifth blogger scene event that Ashley and Natalie&Erika host. It was at the new Vida rooftop pool in Yards Park. Picture cabanas, blueberry cocktails and sexy men in the pool! I was beyond thrilled to see they were giving out gift bags from my favorite jewelry designer Kendra Scott! I also got a manicure from Beauty in a Beat. I was so impressed that they had tons of awesome giveaways. And while I never win anything, I was surprised this time to win one giveaway for a lip scrub and lipstick from Makeup Meltdown which makes custom lipstick colors and discontinued lipstick matching.  I learned a lot from the great panel from local bloggers who gave tips and advice on blogging. One of the panelist is an amazing makeup artist and youtube vlogger Claire who gave me a great tip on what highlighter to buy. I connected with other bloggers I've met at past events and it's always a great chance to meet new bloggers and find out about awesome blogs to read!

Rocksbox Review

I love subscription boxes, and well generally getting anything fun in the mail! For beauty products I get Allure's Sample Society and now for jewelry I signed up for Rocksbox. What netflix is to DVDs, rocksbox is to jewelry - a monthly subscription service! For $19 a month they send you a box (with a pretty black ribbon) with 3 pieces of designer jewelry based on your style profile. You can wear the items on loan for as long as you want or return them as fast as you can for your next box. There is the option to buy the pieces they send you but I love have the variety of pieces to wear to keep my wardrobe fresh. They include a free shipping back to return the items. From my first box I liked 2 out of the 3 pieces so I went back and adjusted my survey answers to make sure it's a better fit next time. They even have a wishlist section on their website so you can mark which items you'd like next.

Conquer your closet clutter!

As I was reorganizing my closet for fall I wanted to share a few things that I've done in my closet to make it much more easy to keep organized. Something I don't do often enough is wear jewelry, I typically would only wear stud earrings. I used to keep all my necklaces hidden in my lovely  purple jewelry boxes, but as they say, out of sight, out of mind. So I decided to take my jewelry out of hiding and hang my necklaces up in my closet. For some reason I thought my chucky statement necklaces were too heavy to hang up, but I guess if it can hang around my neck it can hang on display! lol This way nothing will be forgotten and I can now give myself a little more bling when I dress each morning. I also purged all the jewelry that I haven't worn in a year to help declutter.

This is how I organize my tights, got the organizer from amazon.

Belts and Scarf organizer. (yes I own three white coats)
